FGG Evolution Since 2004: Organisation & Membership Structure

To continue the presentation of areas in which the FGG has made major changes since 2004, the following points concern the restructuring of the FGG to become a more effective membership organization.
  • Streamlined Board operations and reduced number of board members from 50 to 18
  • Re-established Executive Board with 9 members
  • Established Assembly with members from Europe, Australia, Africa, South America, Asia, North America
  • Elected Board Members from Europe, Australia, Africa, North America
  • Enhanced and streamlined bylaws continuously
  • Streamlined Membership process
  • More flexible Assembly structure with Full Members, Associate Members, and Partners
  • Increased membership in FGG Assembly by 30%
  • Provided benefits to members, including a rebate program linked to Gay Games registration
  • Engaged consultancy services to develop sponsorships and donations
  • Increased outreach & scholarship programs, including FGG presence in Cape Town during 2008 Annual Meeting
