!DI*NN*ERSITY charity dinner supports Games Cologne

Fine food, thrilling games of bingo, an award-winning dance program, recognition for LGBGT leaders, and a surprise announcement made for an exciting event on Thursday, 1 October 2009, at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne.

For the occasion, the atrium of the beautiful Maritim Hotel, whose magnificent grand ballroom will welcome the Gay Games VIII DanceSport competition, was transformed into a candlelit banquet hall.

The dinner, held in conjunction with the Federation of Gay Games Annual Meeting, raised funds for Gay Games VIII. Among the prizes were a trip for two to New York via partner airline KLM, a registration package for Gay Games VIII, paintings of Cologne by renowned artist Gerda Laufenberg, and a Gay Games VIII satchel with T-Shirt, cup, pin and baseball hat (all Gay Games VIII merchandise is available online HERE at the Games Cologne website).

The bingo drawing was held with the help of FGG VP Diversity Laura Moore, who added a session of ice skating at Rockefeller Center for the winner of the trip to New York, where the Gay Games gold medal-winning figure skater resides, and where she is currently training for Gay Games VIII next summer.
Attendees included local business and community leaders from Cologne, participants in the FGG Annual Meeting, and honored guests including Dick Uyvari and EGLSF co-president Pepe Garcia Vasquez.
