eurOut Gay Games Update: Bodybuilding and Cheerleading

From our friends at EurOut.org (European lesbian news) comes this update by Saskia Joreen.

Let me start off by confessing I'm not really a sporty type of person. I tried to avoid watching the World Cup a few weeks back, and only visit the gym because I already paid for it.

But having said that, I must admit that I'm having a fantastic time in Cologne. There is so much to do and so much to see, and shockingly enough I actually enjoy watching the sports too!

Two highlights for me so far have been the bodybuilding and cheerleading competitions and exhibitions. All participants at bodybuilding gave away a highly entertaining show, which made it definitely worth our while, even though there was only one female competitor there.

Competitors were showing off their bodies and were flirting with the audience, that basically went completely wild and started shouting things like, "Marry me!“ to the muscular guys on stage.

Even the only female contestant, Valerie Worrell from the USA, received a very warm welcome from the crowd that consisted of mostly gay males. She took home a gold medal in the category Women over 40.
