More than 150 members came together earlier this month to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the UK’s only gay and lesbian sailing club, the Sailing & Cruising Association.
Sailors marked the anniversary and a notable record of achievements for the club, which promotes sailing, motor cruising and dinghy sailing by attending a black tie event held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in Whitehall, London.
Sailing highlights of the 2010 season included 18 members of the club competing in the Cologne Gay Games, winning both silver and bronze medals, as well as the club’s main racing yacht, Night Owl, winning silver in the 2010 Inshore Jog Series.
