Hundreds of athletes are being invited to come together at a Cologne Gay Games reunion night being organised in London on 26 March.
Organisers behind the ‘Wellfit Sports Party’ including members from the LGBT Sports Network, Team UK and the 2018 Gay Games Bid want to celebrate the participation of over 800 UK athletes who took part in last year’s Gay Games, of whom many brought home top medals.
The event being staged at Union, Albert Embankment from 10pm – 4am aims to recreate the inclusivity and friendliness of the Games’ parties and is open to all, including Gay Games participants and those who have never played sport.
Athletes will be invited to play against famous sporting celebrities on the night through Wii Fit, Pool and Wrestling games.
A variety of entertainment will also be offered including music from DJs Miss Cupcake, Marco Gee, Rub.Me.Out and vocal house singer Tonnic – with more to be announced.
The organisers will also showcase a number of different clubs (sport, dance and singing) by transforming the groups into a sports-themed playground on the night.
All profits made from the event will be put into a fund to help LGBT sports, cultural, social and health groups.
Tickets priced at £8.50 are available online through www.london2018.info/wellfit and at a discounted rate from participating LGBT sports clubs including London Frontrunners.
