Federation member Vorspiel Berlin is a partner of the 2011 Respect Gaymes.
In 2011, more than 600 athletes will compete in the disciplines of football, beach volleyball and street football against each other. In addition, young people can take each other on in a Breakdance Battle. All day there will be workshops on graffiti, rap and break dancing, with a VIP football game in the afternoon. All are invited to participate! More info HERE.
The Respect Gaymes are held every year and, with the sports tournaments and the Respect Village with information booths, workshops and stage performances. The motto is simple and memorable, "Show respect for gays and lesbians!"
No matter whether you are heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual: Respect Gaymes allows young people to connect together to respect for gays and lesbians. The message is clear: a red card for hatred and violence!
The project was launched in 2005 as an encounter between homosexual and heterosexual people who otherwise have no points of contact. The project's objective is to combat prejudice and promote respect and tolerance.
Respect Gaymes generally consist of two pillars. The first pillar consists of educational work in schools and youth centers. The second pillar is the sporting and cultural event known as Respect Gaymes, which takes place each year in early June. This is primarily a matter of creating through sport and cultural encounters between homosexual and heterosexual people who are otherwise without actual contact.
We try through a mixture of soccer, street football, concerts, information booths, demonstration areas and workshops - such as rap, graffiti, hip hop, and since 2010 for the first time with a break dance battle - to address a variety of people.
