Our friend Blake Skjellerup was the guest on the Feast of Fun podcast:
Although nothing can compare to the thrill of going for the gold at the Winter Olympics, for speed skater Blake Skjellerup fighting for equality in his native New Zealand really gets him going.
Blake is the spokesperson for Pink Shirt Day in New Zealand, which aims to fight discrimination and end bullying in schools by everyone to wear pink shirts to draw attention to the problem.
The campaign was a huge success and over three thousand people sent letters to the Prime Minister urging him to meet with Blake, which he then did!
Now, Blake is touring across New Zealand and stopping at school to talk about acceptance and diversity.
Listen as we talk with Blake about his intense training regimen, getting on the box of Fruity Cheerios, meeting Justin Bieber, who has the best ass in sports, and what it’s like being the only openly gay man in the Olympic Village.
