Scudetto Cup to visit Cleveland for Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival

CLEVELAND, Ohio (June 6, 2011) – AC Milan’s remarkable victory against Italian League rival Inter of Milan at the 2011 Scudetto Cup was celebrated all around the world. Now soccer fans can join in the excitement and get their picture taken with the esteemed trophy as Eddie Marles, AC Milan Youth Program Coordinator for North and Latin America, will personally bring it from Milan to Cleveland during the Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival.

AC Milan was founded 112 years ago and continues to be the world’s most successful soccer club, holding the record of international competition trophies. This is the 18th Italian League trophy for AC Milan which currently holds the title of Italian Champion.

The trophy will travel to Cleveland exclusively and be on display at the AC Milan Continental Cup which is part of the sixth annual Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival presented by Cleveland Clinic Sports Health from June 30 – July 3. Fans can locate the trophy at the AC Milan tent at Lost Nation Sports Park in Willoughby, one of the soccer tournament sites. Pictures can be taken with the trophy on June 30th and July 1st between 10:00am – 3:00pm.

This summer the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission will host the sixth annual Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival presented by Cleveland Clinic Sports Health. It will take place June 30-July 3 and is now
comprised of four sports including the AC Milan Continental Cup (soccer), Cleveland Indians Charities Continental Cup (baseball), Cleveland Cavaliers Continental Cup (basketball) and the newly added Continental Cup Lacrosse tournaments. Over 3,600 athletes from 25 different countries are expected to participate this summer while pumping over $4 million into the region due to tourism dollars.

AC Milan will also host its Milan Junior Camp following the Continental Cup. The Milan Junior Camp will be hosted by AC Milan trainers from Italy and is open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 17 and will be held at Westlake Recreation Center from July 5-8 and Pinnacle Sports from July 18-22.
