Boston gay rugby club on local TV news series


The Boston Ironsides were featured in a segment on ABC 5's Chronicle called 'Almost Equal' about the changing attitudes of the LGBT community.

Same sex marriage is legal in several states, don't ask don't tell is no longer the rule in the US military, and gay and lesbian role models are prominent in the popular media. The gay rights movement can claim many recent victories. So why do advocates say those advances are far from secure? Anthony Everett reports.

Sponsor features Boston Pride Hockey's bronze in Cologne

The sponsor of Boston Pride Hockey devoted their latest newsletter to the team's experience at Gay Games VIII, and the donation they were able to make to a local hockey league:


BOSTON - Boston Pride Hockey (BPH), the regions premier GLBTS hockey organization, made a triumphant return home from the latest Gay Games, hosted in Cologne, Germany, with the bronze medal in Men’s Ice Hockey. The Games take place every four years, each time in a different country, attracting teams from all over the world. The recent trip to Germany has been the fourth time BPH has represented the Boston community and the fourth time the team placed in the competition. Previous trips to Amsterdam, Sydney and Chicago resulted in three gold medals respectively. “I can confidently speak for everyone at BPH when I say it’s an event we look forward to,” says Boston Pride Hockey Board Member, Jeff Higgins. “The bonding that takes place amongst players participating in these events is strong and lasting.”
