Next week is the annual Homoclimbtastic convention in Fayetteville, West Virginia which has grown to 120 registered attendees.
You might not think that West Virginia would be such a welcoming place for a big group of gay climbers, but Waterstone Outdoors, a local rock-climbing and outdoor gear business, has gone all out (and taken it almost all off) to welcome the group. Straight-to-gay marketing at its most relaxed.

This is a nice short video segment from L-MAG TV with three portraits of lesbian athletes at the Gay Games 2010. Interviewed were Pinky Zulu, South African soccer player who wants to bring the Gay Games to South Africa; Lies, a tennis player from the Netherlands, who came to the Gay Games without a doubles partner and had one assigned to her; and Shannon from the U.S. who met her partner Julia while sport climbing. Live from Cologne - When Gay Games participants climb the wall
This is a news update from Games-cologne.comThere are 40 participants in sport climbing here at Gay Games Cologne. On the first day of competition about 120 spectators gathered to encourage the climbers. Frank Bläser, who runs in cooperation with Gregor Jaeger ”die Kletterfabrik” (climbing factory) was enchanted by the atmosphere among the audience. “That was highly motivating for us”, he told a participant. “Die Kletterfabrik is an amazing Arena for such a competition”, added a 23 years old woman participant.
