Message from Jessica Waddell Lewinstein

Jessica Lewinstein, daughter of the founders of the Gay Games, Tom Waddell and Sara Waddell Lewinstein, sent a message of congratulations to the Federation of Gay Games.

On behalf of my mother and myself, I would like to wish you all a great annual meeting, as well as send our congratulations to Cleveland as host of Gay Games IX.

I have attended every Gay Games, except for two: Gay Games I, because I hadn't been born yet, and the Sydney Games, because my mother wouldn't let me skip my first week of college. I certainly don’t intend on missing any more!

I was delighted to hear that the Tom Waddell Cup has now arrived in Cologne, and I'm sure it's in good hands until Gay Games VIII, during which I will be presenting it to the 2010 winners of the award.

Gay Games VIII will be very special to me, not only because I plan on competing for the first t"ime, but because I will be able to meet all of you next summer on the fields, at the ceremonies, or at a bar enjoying a beer, which I hear is particularly good in Cologne. In any case, better than the beer in Dusseldorf!

In conclusion, I would like thank you for your hard work on the Gay Games and I look forward to seeing you all next July in Cologne, where I too will 'Be part of it!'
