"The Road to Cologne": Todd Urban

I was prompted to enter the Gay Games in Cologne because I have been asked to run the aquatic events when the Games come to Cleveland in 2014. In the past, I swam at both the Games in New York City and Amsterdam. The thrill of both events was being able to march onto the stadium fields with other gay athletes from around the world. There is such a sense of camaraderie and fun that lasts throughout the entire Games. I was overwhelmed seeing how many top level athletes are gay, but also impressed by the not-so-accomplished athletes who are there just for the personal challenge.
