I'm playing softball with a team from Indianapolis, the Sluggers. There are four or five of us who are "pick-up" players and the Indy guys couldn't be nicer. The softball competition is small here - there's not a big tradition of softball or baseball in Europe - but the volunteers, many of whom come from the local women's fast pitch softball league, have been really great and well organized. Now if we could just get the umpires to actually stand behind the plate. I can't imagine calling strikes and balls standing 5 feet to the left or right of the plate ... and, I might add, neither could our pitcher really understand that LOL.Pictured is Michael from the Indianapolis Sluggers as we traveled back fro the fields to make sure that the German beer is as good as they say.
