Celebrity chef Michael Symon planning for a new restaurant in Cleveland

From the Cleveland Plain Dealer, news about plans for a new restaurant from celebrity chef Michael Symon, who is credited as helping to "save" the restaurant scene in Downtown Cleveland. He is the chef and owner of number of restaurants in the Greater Cleveland area, including his flagship Lola, Lolita, Bar Symon, and The B Spot.

"I was fooling around on Facebook and it kind of went crazy," said celebrity chef Michael Symon of his announcement of a new Cleveland-themed restaurant.

Symon asked his followers on the social-media site to share their thoughts on a new concept he'd been pondering, dubbed the S&P Kitchen, Bar and Smokehouse. It quickly gathered more than 400 comments.

The possible menu includes perch sliders, venison pot roast and a duck polish boy.

"There's no timetable for an opening," said Symon from his home. He has this week off from shooting ABC's "The Chew" in New York. "There's no location yet. It's just that Cleveland has always given us such big hugs. We want to give Cleveland a big hug back. We want this restaurant to embody all that Cleveland stands for in terms of food, beverage and music."
