2nd Forum FSGL a success

Despite moving to a new venue, City Hall of the 4th Arrondissement, the 2nd Forum FSGL was a big success. Fewer casual drop-in visitors were present, but there were more than enough people interested in learning more about the more than 20 FSLG member clubs present. In addition to these clubs, other organizations such as SOS Homophobia and a new association promoting social activities for transgender people were invited, as were the Federation of Gay Games and the EGLSF/Eurogames 2011. Also present were representatives of the Face-à-Face film festival in St Etienne, whose theme this year is sport and homophobia, with the premiere of original films based on Gay Games VIII.

While the booths of these organizations attracted visitors to the upper level ballroom, downstairs there were plenty of activities as well. The opening event was a panel discussion moderated by FGG Honorary Life Member Manuel Picaud and including researcher Sylvain Ferez and representatives of FSGL clubs sharing their experiences welcoming HIV-positive athletes.

After this event, the courtyard of the City Hall hosted demonstrations by member clubs, including basketball (Entre 2 Basket), bodybuilding (Le Coq Musclé), dance (Gais Musette), softball (BK Softball), and wrestling (Paris Lutte).

The FGG thanks Bruno Aussenac and the board of the FSGL, Patrick Bridot, coordinator for the Forum, and all the FSGL volunteers for welcoming the Federation, represented by co-president Emy Ritt and board members Sonia Abécassis and Marc Naimark.
