Federation of Gay Games board members attending the Annual General Assembly of the European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation gave a brief update of progress toward Gay Games IX, focusing on the high-level public commitment to the event, the skills brought by partners of the event, and the request for input from specialists in LGBT sport to make Gay Games IX a success.

EGLSF delegates were also sensitive to the appeal expressed by the Gay Games IX host committee to use the event as an opportunity to bring together the large Central and Eastern European community in Cleveland with LGBT sports and culture groups in their countries of origin.
