Volunteer Benefits
As a volunteer you can be an active part of the largest global participatory sporting event of 2010!

  • Experience true internationality. The 12,000 participants of the Gay Games will come from more than 70 countries!
  • Get to know the Gay Games personally and in detail... a real “backstage” view!
  • Make new friends. Get to know new people in Cologne and from around the world.
  • If you’re lucky enough to experience freedom and equality in your home town, volunteer work is a great opportunity to help others experience this freedom in Cologne.
  • Your help can have a hand in showing the world that there is more to LGBT life than parties and parades.
  • There will be many discounts for volunteers; reduced price admissions, special uniforms, surprise events and parties, certificates for placements, etc.

Volunteer Requirements
The duties of volunteers are varied. To ensure an assignment most suited to your skills and interests we will need some information about you.

  • To volunteer, you must be at least 16 years of age at the time of the 2010 Games.
  • The same principles that apply to the entire Gay Games apply to volunteers: everybody is welcome, whether male or female, homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual or transgender!
