Minister of Justice supports Gay Games VIII

German Minister of Justice Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger visits the Gay Games Information booth

On the eve of the CSD (Cologne Pride), Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger visited the information booth of the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010. There she used the opportunity for a talk with Annette Wachter and Michael Lohaus, co-presidents of the Gay Games Cologne. And the German Minister of Justice presented for the first time the medals which can be won at the Gay Games starting July 31.

The German Minister of Justice was impressed to learn about the participants in 35 sports, 5 big cultural events, around 300 volunteers, some of whom have been working for years to prepare the Gay Games.

“You cannot imagine how big the Gay Games are and how much work is behind them” she says. She was also excited about the variety of the program. “There´s a lot of heart and soul in it” Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger observes. The patron of the Gay Games Cologne is her colleague at the FDP (Liberal Part) Guido Westerwelle, Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
