17th Come-Together-Cup, Cologne
Thursday 2 June 2011 (Corpus Christi public holiday)
At Sportpark Muengersdorf, which participants in Gay Games VIII know well as the home of so many events there.
The Come Together Cup, supported by FGG member organization SC Janus, brings together teams, gay and straight, established and ad hoc, representing all sectors of society.
From last year's event:
It's all about playing football together and talking and celebrating together: Since 1995, a colourful field of 50 teams has met annually on the "Cologne Jahnwiese" to compete for the Come-Together-Cup (CTC). It is a huge football festival held to support the integration of all minorities and to fight against homophobia and discrimination in football. The proceeds from this event are used to benefit social community projects and, since 2005, to support the RUBICON Advice Centre and the "anyway" Youth Centre.
