The partner of filmmaker Françoise Romand writes about the film :
When Françoise went to Cologne last August to film the Gay "Olympic" Games, at the request of the Saint Etienne LGBT film festival, I found the idea odd. I don't care much for any films about sport, and I figured there were already plenty of homosexuals in the official Olympics [sic] that I couldn't see what she would get from this trip. I was wrong not to trust her.
Françoise filmed as usual, with tenderness and humor, producing a documentary comedy whose tone will delight both gays and straights, because it's not about sexual orientation. A kaleidoscope in the colors of the rainbow flag, words spin and turn, bodies express themselves, participants speak freely. Some interviewed retract their participation, for fear of the view of others, and Françoise had to find inventive ways of presenting their words that only enhance the modernity of the film.
A pretext for meeting and being together, the sports competition also serves to show human beings, to hear what they are all about: their humanity oozes from them like healthy sweat.
It's subtitled in French, English and German.
