UK LGBT Sport Summit and pre-launch of UK LGBT History Month

FGG member Pride Sports Manchester is a lead partner in the pre-launch of the UK LGBT History Month, including the UK LGBT Sports Summit.

A free day of interactive workshops, speakers and exhibitions on LGBT sport will be held on Tuesday, November 2 at Twickenham Stadium, London.

Open workshops during the day, some running concurrently, will include:

-- Growing and Sustaining LGBT Participation in Sport (aimed at National Governing Bodies, Local Authorities, CSPs and other sports providers)
-- LGBT Sport Summit (an Open Space Workshop for examining current issues in LGBT sports development)
-- Models for LGBT Participation in School Sport and Higher Education Sports Curriculum
-- Models for LGBT Sports Participation and Development

Speakers at the evening session, beginning at 6.30 pm, will include (among others):

-- John Amaechi (psychologist and former NBA player)
-- Gareth Thomas (former Welsh Rugby Union international)
-- Dikeledi Sibanda (Manager of South Africa's black lesbian football team)
-- Louise Englefield (Co-President, European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation)
