Downtown Soccer Toronto sells calendars for charities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Downtown Soccer Toronto online calendar sales module now live

July 25, 2010, Toronto – Downtown Soccer Toronto (DST) 2010/11 calendars are now available for sale online at www.downtownsoccertoronto.org, with shipping to Canada, the U.S. and internationally.

Previously available in-person only, the calendar can now be purchased online at www.downtownsoccertoronto.org by clicking the button in the top right hand corner. “We wanted to be able to meet the demand and make it easy for people to support our efforts,” explains Events and Sponsorship Coordinator Shane Butner. “Now we’ve got one-click sales right off the site.”

The calendar, which relied solely on volunteer models, photographers, and designers from the league and league allies, is a fund raising effort for the league, with partial proceeds of sales going to Brighton-based charity The Justin Campaign.

“The Justin Campaign works to challenge homophobia in football. Our gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer and queer-friendly league does the same,” says Communications Officer Keph Senett. “We’re a natural fit, and I am extremely proud to see DST partner with such an outstanding and effective organization.”

Downtown Soccer Toronto is Toronto’s first official gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer and queer-friendly summer co-ed recreational soccer league, aimed at providing an athletic and socially safe atmosphere for everyone to enjoy playing soccer.
