From the website of the French track and field federation FFA:
During its 2 April board meeting, the FFA signed the national charter against homophobia in sport. The charter presented by the French ministry of sport presents a series of commitments, notably with regard to sanctions against homophobic behaviors, and raising awareness of the fight against all forms of discrimination.
Bernard Amsalem, president of the FFA, stated: "We must continue the effort against all forms of discrimination in sport, in particular homophobia. Beyond this, we want to participate in spreading educational messages on tolerance and acceptance of others. Track is the sport for all. To really make that true, we cannot accept any form of discrimination or insults based on sexual orientation. Our mission is not only to train athletes, but to make citizens. "
